A SCOTTISH HYMN OF WELCOME TO ST THERESE
In preparation for the St Thérèse of Lisieux - Scotland 2019
St Therese of Lisieux Performed by St John Paul II Primary Viewpark Written by Carmelite Monastery, Dysart Tune: Highland Cathedral
Welcome, Thérèse, to Scotland’s soil today,
Come to remind us of your ‘Little Way’.
Teach us the secrets of Christ’s love and grace
Learned through His Childhood and His Holy Face.
Love and faith were the driving force:
God’s Merciful Love – poured on your soul -
Drew your childlike heart on course:
Surrender so pure and whole.
Called to a life of dedicated prayer,
Daily you offered all you had and were:
Nothing too small to give Him, joy or pain,
Wandering hearts to Jesus’ love to gain.
When the clouds gathered heavily,
All joy and light… disappeared.
Holding fast with fidelity,
You steadily persevered.
Soaring to God on wings of faith and trust,
Confidence raised you to the heights of love,
Love all-encompassing, so deep and just:
Drawing us with you to His home above.
We in our country of Scotland, pray
that we through her prayer… love Him like you.
Saint Thérèse, through your ‘Little Way’,
All Scotland’s faith renew.
